British American Tobacco

London's famous embankment provides a striking backdrop for one of Pinacl Solution's most ambitious project to date, the installation and mapping of a completely new IT and services network for British American Tobacco's new state-of-the-art corporate headquarters.

Project management skills were crucial to ensure that this project was completed on time and within budget. As Damian O'Hara from Tarmac explain: "This was a particularly challenging project given its busy city centre location with all the usual problems of access, scheduling and management of deliveries. Thankfully, the team responded well to British American Tobacco's constantly evolving requirements and the quality and professionalism of the work has been first class".

Key Features

During the construction phase of the project, Pinacl Solutions worked together with the main contractor Tarmac and consultant Hoare Lea in order to offer British American Tobacco a consistent approach to quality.

Pinacl Solutions utilised Celsius™, its advanced cable infrastructure documentation and management software to map all eleven floors of British American Tobacco headquarter building. From voice and data cabling, to power and security, all schematics and building routes are updated and maintained using this bespoke software package.

British American Tobacco was provided with a complete inventory of cables and equipment, including a comprehensive record of end-to-end circuit connectivity. Not just at the planning stage, but throughout development, including documentation and hand-over.

As a result of using Celsius™, Pinacl Solutions continue to support British American Tobacco with a service level contract for the Moves, Adds and Changes in the building. Through our team of on-site engineers, British American Tobacco can maintain the value of their infrastructure and Pinacl can provide flexibility to the changes in busy working environment.
