Pinacl Solutions offered a value for money solution that would build upon the existing installed network of Siemens iSDXs, boosting its ability to cope with the increasing demands placed upon it.

Pinacl Solutions designed a network building on the current Siemens iSDX voice switches, and incorporating Cisco Layer 3 Switches to provide the quality of service (QOS) needed to prioritise vital policing applications over the Wide Area Network (WAN).

Mitel Networks 3300 Integrated Communications Platform (ICP) was then incorporated to ensure that the integration of voice into the new WAN was successful without the loss of functionality.

This solution also supports the integration of video services such as CCTV, Heli-Tele and automatic number plate recognition across the WAN network.

The solution installed is versatile and easy to modify. The thoughts from Staffordshire Police were that 'this would undoubtedly be the first option for other Police forces undertaking similar plans across the UK.'
