'Best Use of ICT to Create a Learning Community' Award Winner

Pinacl Solutions wins the BCSE ICT 2008 Award for the Thomas Deacon Academy project.

The Thomas Deacon Academy is a landmark project for Pinacl Solutions and demonstrates what we do best -placing importance on the detail, integrating the latest in innovative technology and working together with our strategic partners to deliver the optimum solution for our customers.
At the Thomas Deacon Academy, Pinacl Solutions delivered and managed the full scope of ICT services, working with strategic partners to provide an innovative Thin Client solution, cashless catering and library book management using Smart Card technology and a complete ICT infrastructure including telephony, servers and PC's.
The British Council for School Environments (BCSE) is a membership organisation made up of schools, local authorities, construction companies, architects, and all those involved in, and passionate about, designing excellent learning environments. The awards celebrate excellence across the school design and building sector and over 140 organisations entered for the 14 categories which recognised a wide range of areas from inspiring design to the best client teams.
Against tough competition, Pinacl's work at the Thomas Deacon Academy has been acknowledged and duly recognised by a distinguished panel of judges from a number industry leading organisations including the DCSF (Department for Children, Schools and Families) and RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects).

"I am very proud that Pinacl have won this award. This project and the ongoing support, is further evidence of our strong delivery capability and true system integration within the ICT theatre. By engaging with similarly committed partners such as Novus and Easytrace, we have demonstrated not only value for money, but built a flexible foundation to cater for future requirements that the academy will have.
The skill, knowledge and dedication of Pinacl's staff ensured that this challenging work was completed in a tight 6 week window (time framed by the start of a new school term), even though it introduced a number of original initiatives. For the British Council for School Environments (BCSE) to recognise this through its award for Best Use of ICT against stiff competition, is testament to Thomas Deacon Academy and Pinacl's ability in delivering an innovative, practical, fully functional ICT environment."
